PROPAGANDA is a large collection of GPL-licensed seamless desktop backgrounds included in various Linux distributions, and available via free download over the web. While no longer being produced or even officially hosted online, the collection consisted of approximately 15 volumes of largely abstract and surreal art, numbering over 1,000 images in total. Created in GIMP by Bowie J. Poag, the images were meant to attract users to the platform by virtue of the art having been 100% Linux-generated.

The style of the images produced by Poag were unusual in terms of their geometric qualities. Appearing to repeat seamlessly along all four edges, PROPAGANDA images became attractive for use in 3D modeling, and particularly for use as desktop wallpaper, in that limitations in graphics hardware at the time often prevented users from using full screen 24-bit images. Using smaller, tileable images for desktop backgrounds helped keep memory utilization to a minimum, while still allowing early Linux desktops to be visually appealing.

After ten months, Poag turned control of the project over to Naru Sundar who was then a student at the California Institute of Technology. Although Sundar would subsequently release two additional volumes, Poag terminated the project in April 2000 citing a lack of activity by Sundar, and a falling out with Chris DiBona, a manager of community projects at VA Linux Systems, who provided hosting space for his project.

As a side source of amusement, PROPAGANDA's website featured a satirical storyline that John F. Kennedy had faked his own assassination in 1963, and had placed himself into cryogenic suspension until the time was right to lead the charge against Microsoft, and help the Linux movement gain footing. While not greatly influential, Poag's work with PROPAGANDA led many to develop an interest in Linux as a platform during its formative early years

The Clubland website Clubland.fm is used for fans to catch up on the latest news in Clubland as well as to see the tracklistings for all the Clubland albums. Fans can also listen to the latest Clubland tracks and see the latest Clubland videos. Information about Clubland artists is shown on the website and it is where the podcast is available to listen to and download from. There are also sections for babes, cars, and games on the website and free stuff such as desktop wallpapers are available to download. There is also a Clubland forum on the website as well as a Clubland Shop and new Hardcore section, with all the latest news in Clubland X-Treme Hardcore.

Radio Show Podcasts

Since October 2006, each month there had been a podcast released by Clubland, available for listeners to download from their website [1] or iTunes [2]. Dave Bethell presents the podcast, which was usually about 30 minutes long, in the same style as a radio show and the podcast was also used mainly to air exclusive new Clubland tracks and advertise forthcoming Clubland releases and events. In January 2008, Clubland launched its own TV channel on Sky channel 383. The channel airs the latest Clubland music videos as well as Clubland classics. In the future the channel will show live events and interviews from Clubland as well as competitions and prizes.

Clubland often hold live events across various nightclubs in Great Britain, Ireland and Magaluf in Mallorca. Flip & Fill usually tour nightclubs with MC Domino and Frisco and sometimes a Live PA act, in an event called "Flip & Fill's Clubland Tour". Launch parties are held around the time of a new Clubland or Clubland X-Treme Hardcore release, with live performances by Clubland artists, such as Flip & Fill and Ultrabeat, and these are used to help promote the release and filming for the album trailers.

On their website, Clubland usually promote the weekend events of some of their favorite venues and some of the hardcore events taking place, as well as promoting the live performances of some of their artists. Clubland also promoted Cascada's UK tour with Ultrabeat in September - October 2007.

In March 2008, Clubland held Clubland Live, an arena tour across seven arenas in the UK with some of the biggest acts in Clubland appearing. Cascada and Scooter headlined the tour and some of the acts appearing on the tour were Ultrabeat, Flip & Fill, N-Trance and Kelly Llorenna.

In July 2009, www.clubland.fm (Clubland's Website) revealed the dates for Clubland Live 3 with Cascada headlining the show. Other performers include Agnes Carlsson (aka Agnes), N-Dubz and Darren Styles. The shows started on 26 Nov. at the Glasgow SECC and ended on 6 December at The National Indoor Arena,
